Understanding Email Open Rates in Mergo Campaigns
When sending out email campaigns using Mergo, you may notice that the 'Opened' count in your campaign statistics can sometimes appear unusually high shortly after sending. This may lead to questions about the accuracy of these numbers. We want to assure you that Mergo uses reliable methods to track email opens, but there are a few factors that can affect these metrics:
- Sent folder: You opened the email(s) in your Sent folder in Gmail
- CC or BCC: You CCed or BCCed other recipients and they opened the email.
- Spam Filters and Bots: Your recipient(s) have an email server that automatically checks all the links and images (as part of their system to check for spam, blocklisted accounts, phishing activities, ...) before your recipient(s) could actually open it themselves.
While Mergo strives to provide accurate metrics, it's important to understand that these external factors can influence the numbers you see. We recommend looking at trends over time and comparing open rates across different campaigns for a more accurate assessment of your email performance.
