How to handle daily email sending limits

Overview

Some campaigns require sending a smaller number of emails each day to avoid reaching sending limits or to manage email volume effectively. While there is no built-in feature in Mergo allowing you to directly cap your daily sending volume, you can achieve a similar outcome by splitting your list into smaller segments and scheduling those segments on different dates.

Why schedule in smaller groups?

Dividing your contacts into groups allows you to control how many emails go out each day. For example, if you have a large list of 5,000 contacts, creating groups of 500 in separate sheets or tabs will help you send only a manageable number of emails every 24 hours.

Preparing your spreadsheet

  1. Upload your CSV file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets.
  2. Create multiple tabs or spreadsheets, each containing a subset of your contacts (e.g., 500 per tab if you wish to send 500 emails per day).

Scheduling campaigns

  1. Open the first tab that contains a group of recipients.
  2. Run Mergo to create a mail merge campaign. Set the desired date and time for sending.
  3. Repeat the process for each additional tab, scheduling each group on different days.

By following these steps, you can space out your sending over several days without having to manually reconfigure or throttle Mergo each day.

Additional tips

  • Double-check each subset to ensure there are no duplicates.
  • Use the campaign scheduling feature to plan out each day's sending timeframe.
  • For more detailed instructions on scheduling your sends, refer to the support documentation on scheduling campaigns.

This approach will let you manage list sizes of any length by distributing sending across multiple days, effectively simulating a daily limit.
